Acting Up! Grades 5 - 12
We are now adding Theater Arts to our vast array of offerings! Led by Karen Baucom, “Acting Up!” theater classes are a wonderful way to learn to creatively express oneself in a structured, yet fun environment. Students will unlock their natural abilities on stage as they explore the unique artistic talents they possess inside. A theater arts environment encourages confidence, patience, mental self-control, creative problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, following directions, and other real-life skills. Plus, it’s a ton of fun getting to know each other and ourselves better!
Join us for a fun, twelve-week focused theater class covering the basics of theater, including acting, improvisation, character development, dramatic reading, auditioning, blocking, and stage directions as well as theater terminology and etiquette. This class will culminate with a performance showcasing the skills the students have learned. The play will be chosen based on class size, etc.. There will be extra scheduled practices and parents are encouraged to join a production crew.
